What this policy covers
This policy explains how we process personal data when you browse the site, subscribe to the newsletter, create a membership account, or contact us.
Data we process
- Account / newsletter: email address, and optionally name, when you sign up via Ghost Members / Portal.
- Payments (if you purchase a paid membership): handled by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Contact: the information you send us (email, message content).
- Technical logs: IP address, user-agent, timestamps — for security and reliability of the hosting stack.
- Preferences: country/language and display preferences may be stored in your browser (`localStorage`) and/or via our consent cookie.
- Consent: your cookie choices are stored in the `ctd_cc` cookie.
Purposes and legal bases (GDPR)
- Provide the site and membership — contract / steps prior to contract.
- Send newsletter / member emails you requested — consent or contract.
- Security, abuse prevention, backups — legitimate interest.
- Optional analytics / marketing cookies — consent (see Cookie Policy).
Recipients
- Ghost (CMS / membership) on our infrastructure.
- Stripe (payments), when applicable.
- Resend and Brevo — email delivery for transactional messages and/or newsletters.
- Cloudflare — domain DNS and email routing / redirection.
- Google (Google Workspace) — professional email, documents, and internal collaboration related to operating the site.
- No sale of personal data.
Retention
- Member / subscriber data: while the account/subscription is active, then deleted or anonymised within a reasonable period after closure or inactivity.
- Contact messages: as long as needed to handle the request, then archived or deleted.
- Server logs: typically a few weeks, unless needed for security investigations.
- Consent cookie: up to 182 days, then renewed only if you choose again.
Your rights (EEA / UK)
You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection where applicable, and withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior lawful processing). Contact info@cryptotaxdigest.com. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (in France: CNIL).
International transfers
If a processor is outside the EEA/UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses) where required.
