Blockchain wind down Claims open

Polygon zkEVM

Polygon zkEVM Mainnet Beta sequencer was switched off on 1 July 2026 after a long-announced sunset. Wallet balances move to Ethereum L1 via a claim process (claims reported available into 2027); DeFi positions nested in contracts may need manual unwinding.

Quick answer

Polygon zkEVM is tracked in the CTD crypto project cemetery so former users can reconstruct venue history, claim status, and tax-relevant records. Start with CSV exports, account statements, explorer history, and any claim-portal documents before asking software or an accountant to review the case.

1. History reconstruction

Where leftover records may still live.

Explorers / archives: zkEVM explorers + Ethereum L1 claim contracts; keep final balance snapshot.

Software: Bridge/claim receipts on Ethereum are the post-sunset source of truth for many balances.

  • LP / vault / lending positions may not auto-claim — unwind before sequencer halt when possible.
  • Attach official Polygon Labs notice URL when curating the leaf.
