Cemetery / Celo Layer 1 (pre-L2)
Celo Layer 1 (pre-L2)
Celo’s independent Layer 1 halted block production on 26 March 2025 (~block 31,056,500) when the network migrated to an OP Stack Ethereum Layer 2. Full L1 history was preserved into the L2 stack; reconstruction must distinguish L1 vs L2 eras.
Quick answer
Celo Layer 1 (pre-L2) is tracked in the CTD crypto project cemetery so former users can reconstruct venue history, claim status, and tax-relevant records. Start with CSV exports, account statements, explorer history, and any claim-portal documents before asking software or an accountant to review the case.
1. History reconstruction
Where leftover records may still live.
Explorers / archives: Legacy Celo L1 explorers / archived RPC; L2 explorers for post-migration activity.
Software: Same CELO asset across eras — keep chain-id / L1 vs L2 labels in imports.
- This is an architecture migration, not a bankruptcy — still a cemetery row because the L1 execution environment ended.
