Exchange wind down Claims open

AscendEX

Centralized exchange (formerly BitMax) that ceased operations on 1 July 2026, citing missing EU MiCA authorization plus financial and operational pressures. Automated withdrawals were paused; remaining offboarding is manual review with no assurance of full recovery.

Quick answer

AscendEX is tracked in the CTD crypto project cemetery so former users can reconstruct venue history, claim status, and tax-relevant records. Start with CSV exports, account statements, explorer history, and any claim-portal documents before asking software or an accountant to review the case.

1. History reconstruction

Where leftover records may still live.

CSV / statements: Export any remaining account history / statements while login still works for offboarding; keep withdrawal request IDs.

Software: Import historical AscendEX/BitMax CSV if your software still accepts the format; otherwise generic CSV + claim notes.

  • Full balance recovery is not assured — track each withdrawal outcome separately.
  • Former BitMax tickers / account ids may appear in older exports.
